FIFA 17: 8 Things EA Still Can't Get Right
3. Goalkeeper Kits
The kit selection screen has been part of the FIFA games, and all football games in general, for decades. It’s simple; pick what colour strips you want the teams to play in. That’s it. However, one thing EA still hasn’t added to this feature is the option to pick your goalkeepers kit. It may not seem like much of an issue, but getting your keeper confused for an opposition player during a goalmouth scrabble is so frustrating; especially because of something as basic as clashing colours. It doesn’t have to be an option on the selection screen; EA can just use the same algorithm they use to make sure the referee is in a different colour shirt.
Also, the goalkeeper kits of the lower league teams are still poorly replicated, most of the time being a bland, one-shade colour with no brand logos and just the team’s badge pasted on. If EA has the licenses for the outfield kits, surely they can make sure the goalie’s kits are accurate as well? They can replicate stadiums, boots and even hairstyles, so why is it so hard to have the correct goalie kit?
