FIFA 18: 10 Best Players In The Game

7. Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid)

In EA's opinion, Sergio Ramos is the best defender in the world right now. It's hard to argue that point, because the Spaniard's form for Real Madrid has been frankly stunning. He's not just solid at the back either, because Sergio pops up every now and then with important headed goals. Remember that next time you think about a short corner.

Going from 14th in FIFA 17 to 7th this year, Ramos also has an impressive 3-star rating when it comes to skill moves. That's huge for a centre back, especially when you consider his 72 dribbling skill isn't that high to start off with. Thankfully, his 88 defending and 76 pace (actually 2 points lower than last year) make up for it.

If you favour strong defenders who aren't slow across the turf and can pass well out of defence, then Ramos is your man. It is however fascinating to see EA's approach in FIFA 18; some players look a little worse in key areas, yet their general rating has gone up.

Work that one out.
