FIFA 18: 5 New Features You Need To Know

1. Team Styles

Barcelona play a fast-paced 'tiki-taka' style of football which has helped revolutionise the modern game, and that kind of play has become the standard go-to one in FIFA over the past few years. Thankfully, that's about to change, because it's bizarre to watch every team in the game follow a lightning-fast pass and move formula.

Team styles are being touted as a major new feature by EA. This means Real Madrid will aim to crash forward in numbers (or even win free kicks around the box so CR7 can do his thing) just like they do in real life. If this turns out to be true, then FIFA will become a more tactical game. For the first time ever, we may have to concentrate on who lines up in the star-studded team opposing us, rather than solely looking at star ratings overall.

Theoretically, this could make playing a team like Leicester difficult even when controlling the biggest and best. Put too many men forward as Madrid (for example), and you may just find the speed of Jamie Vardy being exploited by a quick ball over the top. Even Sergio Ramos wouldn't be able to get back in time.
