It happens to us all: you're playing a match against a mate on the sofa or some stranger online and they take an age to pause the game for some substitutions. One key addition to FIFA 18 may just solve this frustration that takes players out of the match and into a boring menu screen.

During replays of missed chances or goals, gamers will now be able to make subs on the fly with the new dynamic substitutions feature. Think the striker who just blasted wide from point blank range has been tanking up front? Then whip him off as you watch his latest horror show of a miss. It'll be slick and easy.

This is something EA Sports should have introduced years ago, but 'better late than never' would just about cover it. Tactical changes will be smoother than ever before in FIFA with this gameplay change, meaning you don't have to take yourself out of the action.

Best of all, subs can be now be pre-planned before matches, which is handy for those of us who always take tired wingers off after 65 minutes.
