FIFA 18: 9 Things We Already Know

9. Old-Gen Consoles Aren't Getting The Journey 2

That's right, Xbox 360 and PS3 loyalists won't be following the second chapter of Alex Hunter's rise from grassroots nobody to Premier League star. Small print in EA's trailer for FIFA 18 revealed that The Journey 2 won't be part of old-gen releases, meaning it's exclusive to PS4, Xbox One and PC.

There's another console missing from that list. Nintendo Switch won't be getting The Journey either, which is definitely a tad disappointing for those who have invested so much into the new hardware. There won't even be a replacement feature for the story mode, with EA deciding that omitting it entirely is the best course of action.

360 and PS3 releases will be dubbed 'Gold' versions. Basically, they're a reskin of last year's game. All the updated squads and strips will be there, but the title will lack all the bells and whistles (along with that Frostbite engine current-gen players will experience) of the others.
