FIFA 18 Vs. PES 2018: Which Game Is Better?

3. Difficulty (PES)

Once you've figured FIFA 18 out, the game doesn't seem that difficult. Prepare to be ramping up the difficulty dial a few notches towards Legendary after just a few matches, because the CPU is guilty of making the same mistakes time and time again. Hell, it even plays much the same regardless of who you're against.

That's an argument that's still to come though. When analysing the actual difficulty between both games, it's PES 2018 which wins. Computer-controlled players act smarter and react to what you're doing on the pitch, which is 100% better than FIFA's 'zonal defend until death' strategy you can easily exploit.

FIFA 18 doesn't quite take the series back to the 16-bit days (when you could find that sweet spot to shoot from and always expect to score), but it is more accessible to casual gamers than more recent entries in the series. PES 2018 is much tougher. If you put the game on the hardest setting, it'll beat you senseless and force you to play differently to adapt.

Winner: PES 2018.
