FIFA 18 Vs. PES 2018: Which Game Is Better?

2. Online Multiplayer (FIFA)

There's no doubt that EA Sports created a cash-cow when they launched Ultimate Team in time for FIFA 09. Back then, it was a mere trial to see if the gaming public would accept a collectible card game as part of the feature set. Today, FUT is a core reason people buy FIFA. The same can't be said for PES and myClub.

Finding differences between FUT and myClub is a challenge, because Konami effectively copied EA and launched their own spin off mode. Nobody can blame them for that, but it doesn't help that the online engine driving multiplayer in PES 2018 still feels clunky. Now EA have had time to iron out the kinks in their own system, Ultimate Team works like a dream.

Setting up a match away from that mode is similarly slick. Time how long it takes you to get into playing a match across both games and it's FIFA that gets to the action first. Hopefully, Konami's servers will improve, otherwise their online multiplayer will turn gamers off rather than draw them in.

Winner: FIFA 18.
