FIFA 19: 10 New Features That Fix Annoying Problems

9. Alternate Commentary

You won't be listening to Martin Tyler or laid-back ex-Arsenal striker Alan Smith talk about the Champions League at all this year, because EA have reached into company coffers and stumped up the cash to have BT Sport's Derek Rae and (another ex-Gunner) Lee Dixon as alternate commentators.

This fixes a small, yet totally tiresome, problem in FIFA. Namely, it stops players from having to switch the commentary off permanently after hearing Tyler's generic borefests before Champions Cup matches. On Premier League duty in 18, Tyler's banter was witty, informative and contextual. That wasn't the case on European nights.

Hopefully, things will be different now Rae and Dixon have been exclusively drafted in to call Euro campaigns.

Going from the Tyler/Smith combo on league weekends to the freshness of Rae/Dixon on those crunch Champions and Europa League games should help breathe new life into FIFA 19, and that's especially true when it comes to Career Mode.
