FIFA 19: 7 Changes That Will Make It Brilliant
4. 50/50 Battles
If EA can get the notion of 50/50 tackling right in FIFA 19, it could eliminate some of those infuriating unstoppable animation cycles that still exist. In other words, if the CPU wanted to get to the ball first (usually in the 85th minute when you're 1-0 up away), it would, and player-controlled monkeys wouldn't be able to interrupt them no matter how hard you hammered the buttons.
Now, with the advent of 50/50, that should be a thing of the past.
EA claim midfield challenges will now take into account way more variables than before. That means quicker players, even those on your team who once looked like they were running in cement at crucial moments, will have just as much chance as the CPU. Scripting? What scripting?
If it's implemented correctly, this should also mean that the better teams will be harder to play against. Their higher stats and better reaction times will spell disaster if you're not quick off the mark.
