FIFA 19: 7 New Additions You Need To Know

5. Timed Finishing

FIFA 18
EA Sports

This is one of the key features already explored elsewhere on the site, but EA have since revealed a little more detail about what it involves. Called "Timed Finishing", the new mechanic relies on everyone playing a little game of risk/reward with themselves when in and around the box.

It needs superb timing.

Now, instead of simply firing off a first-time shot and watching it zoom off into the stands (or worse, out for a throw in) unless you're controlling FIFA's top stars, players can risk pressing the shoot button twice. This triggers the new "Timed Finishing" system, and it could result in an unstoppable shot even the world's best goalies won't be able to save.

If this sounds like a throwback to the old Predator kicks in Adidas Power Soccer on PSOne, then don't worry, because it won't result in a keeper-killing strike every time. According to EA, unstoppable, net-bulging goals are rather difficult to pull off and will need a little practice before they even come close.
