FIFA 19: 7 New Additions You Need To Know
4. Through Balls Are Slicker
Through balls, specifically lofted ones, can be a bit of a mixed bag in FIFA 18. In truth, they've been a problem for many, many years now; way back in ye olden times (FIFA 09), it was pretty much possible to chip keepers or defenders from any angle and laugh as they fell down time and time again.
EA "fixed that" by making chips, even ones that were passes not shots, weaker than a kitten's farts.
They're promising an improvement come FIFA 19, and we're just going to have to believe them until the game comes out. Fingers crossed, people, because it's about time top pros like Paul Pogba were able to play raking cross-field passes that let powerful strikers such as Lukaku sprint in on goal against a panicking, onrushing goalie.
A refreshing slickness to through balls is something EA are touting this year. They must be careful not to make them too powerful, of course, but it'll be nice to have some other ways to break down a stubborn defence than on the ground.
