FIFA 19: 7 New Additions You Need To Know

1. The Changes To Heading

This one goes hand-in-hand with the subtle tweaks EA are making to corners in-game.

Anyone who has ever bemoaned the way balls float aimlessly over the heads of their attackers will be pleased to learn that players now hang a little longer in the air than they used to. This will hopefully also tone down the irritating 'stickiness' of goalkeepers; if the CPU decided they were coming for the ball in FIFA 18, then they were damn sure getting it, and there was nothing gamers could do to stop them.

That, along with the 50/50 challenges previously reported as a new feature, should make vying for the ball in the box less frustrating or pre-determined than it was before. Being able to actually leap up and meet a cross full-on, as opposed to having it stick to a fixed player's head, will feel way more natural than before.

Heading has been a tricky part of FIFA's gameplay to get right for a while. Recently, it's been a turkey shoot whether or not crosses or corners are effective, so it's great to know EA have spotted this themselves and want to make them more organic.
