FIFA 19: 7 Things We Already Know

FIFA 19 is expected to be the last entry in the long-standing series to see release on last-gen hardware like PS3 and Xbox 360. In 2013, EA higher-up Blake Jorgensen promised (at the Stifel Technology Conference) that the team would keep releasing titles on those systems until 2017.

Y'know, last year.

Though there hasn't been a formal announcement quite yet, there's a fair chance EA will soon confirm that FIFA 19 will be the final title to reach PS3 and the 360. It's about time too; anyone holding off on purchasing a PS4 or Xbox One console due to price can't hide behind that argument anymore. Both are more affordable than ever before, and it's not like the "Legacy" editions of FIFA pumped out on last-gen were up-to-date.

It's the right time for EA to press forward, stop doling out an archaic product that relies on little more than squad updates and concentrate on the future of FIFA. By doing that, they'd have to kiss those cherished older consoles goodbye.
