6. The Step-Up IS Noticeable

Although you'd have a hard time conveying the difference between FIFA 16 and 17, or perhaps even 17 and 18, the step-up between 18 and this year's instalment is noticeable.

FIFA 19 looks, plays and feels different to its predecessor, and while that isn't to say that it makes enough changes (certainly not, at the time of writing), the system on the whole does feel a lot different to FIFA 18. The change in passing has already been noted, but together, it's actually the smaller changes that have combined to impart a fresher feeling on FIFA 19 - irrespective of whether or not it's enough to justify the yearly reinvestment.

So yes, there are noticeable changes. It may be a case of quantity over quality, but at least there's a discernible difference between this year's entry and the last's.
