4. The Idea Behind The New Ball Physics (Up)

Straight up, this is a great idea. The ball in FIFA has never quite moved in the way you'd expect it to in real life, at times feeling like a big lead balloon, and others moving like a penny floater. It doesn't hold up consistently in weather conditions, but it also doesn't zig-zag in the air and deceive goalkeepers. It's not a massive issue, but it's a lacking element of realism.

PES2020 has already drawn a lot of praise for the way the ball travels depending on the type of pass. Put too much on a short pass and it'll not only leave the ground and bobble, but also be considerably harder for the receiving player to control. FIFA players fizz 40 yard worm-burners into feet without them so much as skipping off the turf. It's not overly realistic.

The idea here is commendable, and it'll no doubt end up making FIFA a more realistic game going forward. However, the new feature hasn't exactly been universally popular thus far...
