FIFA 21: 10 Most Shocking Ratings
3. Thiago Alcântara
If Thomas Müller's lack of an upgrade was unfair, then Thiago Alcântara's FIFA 21 card is downright criminal.
While the Spaniard is not known for providing excessive amounts of goals and assists, only managing three assists and no goals in the Bundesliga last season, there is little doubt that Thiago is a hugely influential figure on the pitch for Bayern Munich.
Filling in as the central player who held the team together, Thiago's performances in the latter stages of the Champions League were crucial as Bayern stormed to their first victory in the tournament since 2013. The 29 year old was quickly marked as one of Europe's most underrated talents and was seen by many as the Man of the Match in the Champions League Final.
Maybe EA see goals and assists as key to determining whether a player should receive an upgrade or not, flawed as it may be. Either way, it is a staggering downgrade for a player who last season showcased himself as one of Europe's best.
