FIFA 21: 10 Reasons To Be Worried

9. Ultimate Team Is All EA Care About

EA are a business and, like any money-making business, they know what reaps the most rewards. In FIFA land, that's Ultimate Team. The microtransaction-heavy card-based footy empire has become a goldmine for the company, and it's one they're unlikely to move on from when profits are still sky high.

If you're a series loyalist from the days before FUT (FIFA 09 marked the mode's full debut), then this can't be encouraging. Ultimate Team is the breadwinner for EA, and it's all they care about. If that sounds harsh, then consider how broken Career Mode was when FIFA 20 launched late-last year.

It was a mess, and it was obvious that EA's top brass had put all their eggs into the Ultimate Team basket. That left other modes with barely enough to make an omelette, and it didn't sit well with hardcore fans. If anyone thinks FIFA 21 will be anything other than another cash cow, then they're fooling themselves.

FUT is money, and EA like your money.
