FIFA 21: 10 Reasons To Be Worried

7. Player Likenesses Won't Be Updated En Masse

Eagle-eyed fans have noticed for years that Konami's PES series has superior player models and faces. The faces (in particular) are extremely hi-res and do a better job of replicating actual human emotion than EA's do. Plus, Konami actually update a ton of players each year instead of using the same models from past entries.

That's the least gamers expect.

The problem with FIFA 21 is that it's coming out on the cusp of a new console generation, and that might mean EA recycle a ton of code and then tamper with it for only the biggest superstars. This also means that lesser-known players are doomed to have those waxwork-like generic looks and everyone will just have to deal with it until they're (maybe) patched out.

It's a bit of a joke to buy the latest FIFA and see the same old faces staring back at you. Sometimes, players don't even have their current hairstyles, which is inexcusable. It doesn't seem like EA think this is an important part of the game.
