From an optional add-on to the most popular game mode, and arguably, the central focus of any new FIFA title, Ultimate Team has evolved into the most profitable aspect of the series, as fans buy packs in pursuit of building an unstoppable squad.
Of course, you'd think based on previous entries that very little has to change with FIFA Ultimate Team for it to maintain its massive commercial success, but it seems like the fanbase is finally starting to speak out. Common complaints that FIFA 20's pack weighting made it nearly impossible to organically find star players combined with the aforementioned server issues has led to a disillusioned fanbase.
EA doesn't need to reinvent the wheel here: Ultimate Team is one of the few game modes that does seem to be developed and improved year on year, but some reassurances about the mode in FIFA 21 would go a long way in quelling the fears of some fans who fear that FUT is becoming little more than a soulless cash grab.
