FIFA 21 Ultimate Team: 7 Things We Already Know
FIFA Point Spending Cap? Co-Op? Here is what EA have added to next year's game....
This year, EA Sports have delayed the release of FIFA 21 until October. However, that hasn't stopped them releasing some early information on the game.
If we're honest, the last two titles in the FIFA series have not been all that good. That means people will be expecting EA to get it right this time, especially with the extra development time.
One place they especially need to improve is Ultimate Team. Despite FUT 20 having over 13 million players, the mode was certainly lacking. In fact, recent years have seen it become a bit of a cash cow. You could even argue that the last good FIFA was in 2017.
Luckily, it looks like EA are going in the right direction with FUT 21 (so far at least). Many changes have already been announced with many more rumoured to be true. On the 10 August, EA released a new trailer specifically detailing what's coming to Ultimate Team in FIFA 21. They also released patch notes with a plethora of info on what's to come.
With that said, let us take a look at some of the things we now know.
7. Pace Has Been Nerfed
EA recently revealed the ratings and stats of the top 100 players in next year's FUT. One thing that quickly became clear from these is that pace will not be as big of a deal as it has been in previous years. For example, Ciro Immobile has 84 pace whilst Champions League winner and pacey winger Serge Gnabry only has 82. For context, Gnabry last year had 90 pace meaning he has been downgraded by eight.
Perhaps worse than him though is the pace EA have given English star Jadon Sancho: 83. This is down 6 from last year but is much more surprising considering he has been great and is rumoured to be heading to Manchester United.
Of course, all this doesn't mean pace will be completely useless, but perhaps not a must-have like its been previously.
