OK, so this gamer has ploughed through a fair number of games without scoring from even one corner or free kick situation as of yet. The freedom to add more curve and spin on the ball is welcome, at least, but they're hard to work out. It's early days, to be fair, and there's more emphasis on skill than luck.

Free kicks are arguably more troublesome than corners, because you're hitting a smaller target area. For corners, you can just add loads of power, swing it right on top of the keeper and hope they flap around like some Sunday League no-hoper.

How about penalties? They're nail-biting, but then...they should be. Word to the wise: EA included a FIFA training centre that's worth checking out, if only to get a handle on how different set pieces are in this year's game. Give that a fiddle, because you definitely don't want to blast one over the bar in the Champions League final.
