FIFA 23 Beta: 10 Hands-On First Impressions You Need To Know

2. Real-Life Managers Aren’t Unique Enough

FIFA 23
EA Sports

Oh dear.

Everybody really hoped that EA would take the chance to give each real-life gaffer, or at least the familiar Premier League crowd, individual temperaments, characteristics, strengths, weaknesses etc. Sadly, they’re effectively just skin changes for the same old, same old, and that's such a missed opportunity.

Imagine putting a Star Wars gel-skin on your PS5 controller. When you take that off and replace it with a Resident Evil one later, it still functions the same eh? That's what it's like in FIFA 23 whether you're playing as a manager you've created or Pep Guardiola, and things shouldn't be like that.

Pep's approach to pressers is different to someone like Antonio Conte or Steven Gerrard. The media reacts to them in unique ways too, but not in FIFA 23. Nope, they're all just switched-out templates for the same thing, and that's upsetting.

Maybe they'll change this before release, because there are screens out there showing individual characteristics etc. Fingers crossed, 'cause the Beta nullifies the point of even including them.
