FIFA 23 Beta: 10 Hands-On First Impressions You Need To Know

1. It Might Be Worth Skipping

This final entry is genuinely coming from a good place and isn't some anti-EA rant, but...either skipping FIFA 23 or picking it up in the sales when they drop the price could be the way to go. Let's face it, EA will hold onto some of the bigger gameplay features and changes for their own game next year.

FIFA 23 is the final one, and it already feels more like FIFA 22 2.0 than anything else.

That was expected due to the fact it's an annual sports release, and there are some gameplay changes, but it doesn't feel like nearly enough. The overwhelming thought this player had when mucking around with the Beta was that longtime FIFA fans deserve something fresher.

New slide tackles, power shots, set pieces and cutscenes won't be enough for some, and that's just the way it is. However, if you're a FIFA diehard then the game does still do lots of things right. It's important to mention that too - there's a lot to like here.

It's just...tired.
