FIFA Manager 13: 6 Reasons To Be Excited

6. The Other New Features

EA Sports are rewarding fans of the series with a raft of new features besides those dealt with already, and the best are detailed below... HALF-TIME The new half-time feature affords the player more control with detailed individual player speeches and new team speeches, options to boost the energy of a player with a massage or to offer players with minor knocks medical treatment to continue their involvement in the game, direct feedback on your decisions and the new Assistant option to delegate all of your half-time duties. 3D MATCH IMPROVEMENTS The tactical settings of FIFA Manager 13 are set to have more precise definition: there are no longer 3, 4, 5 or 6 settings - instead the player can essentially select probabilities for short versus long passing, the playing direction, the position of the defensive line, or the height of crosses. EA Sports have specifically focused on crosses into the penalty area which have been improved with headers also enjoying increased realism. Atmospherics have also enjoyed a make-over, with numerous new fan banners in the stadiums and the fans now able to show their colours with shirts, scarves and jackets. NEW PLAYER LEVEL The developers have removed the positional level and the general quality of a player will instead be calculated through a formula that includes the skill levels and the player type, making sure that only the relevant skills determine the general level of a player, and in scouting terms it is easier to identify the correct players for specific positions. LIVE TICKER In the Live Ticker the focus for FIFA Manager 13 is on additional options which will allow the manager to have direct influence on the game. The main feature of this is the new decision system that controls how the manager shouts orders onto the pitch in specific situations to affect the outcome. So what do you think? Will FIFA Manager 13 be the management sim to break the hold of Football Manager and Championship Manager? Let us know your thoughts below.
