FIFA World Cup 2014: 10 Things It Does Better Than FIFA 14

2. Ball Flight

By far the biggest change to FIFA in the World Cup game is the new ball flight physics, as EA has partnered with Adidas to give as an authentic response from the virtual balls. A ball in the game will now respond in the same way as a ball in real life, where previously the virtual pigskin would occasionally go on an impossible flightpath on its way to the top corner. It's not just the way the ball flies though, as grass friction and moisture are also added to the equation. Ultimately, it results in a fantastic, realistic response from the ball that mimics the real world and makes you feel that little bit prouder of the great goals you've scored. In a few years time we'll look back on this game as the turning point in the FIFA franchise, a time where the ball, for the first time ever in FIFA, responded like a ball does. It sounds ridiculous but until you experience it, you won't realise just how big this addition is. Faced with this, we'll never go back to the old ways.
