Final Fantasy: 10 Incredible Statistics You Won't Believe

Final Fantasy games, as sprawling as they can often be, are not necessarily the easiest games to finish. Just in terms of pure longevity, titles in the series can take a few dozen hours just to get through the story let alone the optional content.

Sticking with Final Fantasy XIV and the census, it’s a very pure example of that. According to the site, less than 5% of characters have been taken to the endgame state (in this case, claiming the reward for finishing the Endwalker storyline). Admittedly, FF14 is a game that has grown and grown thanks to expansions which make it harder to “complete”.

Final Fantasy XIV, at the time of completion, has 2751 achievements. And, as October 2023, the first person to collect them all - a Japanese player on the Garuda server - finally did so, 10 years after the game’s launch.

These range the full gambit of tasks from completing the game’s ultimate raids and treasure dungeons, collecting every relic weapon and racking thousands of PVP victories, It means soloing all three Deep Dungeons, collecting 20,000 accursed hoard chests and killing an unthinkable number of marks.

One of the reasons it would’ve taken so long is the levequest achievements, which are small combat and essentially fetch quest requests for players to fulfil. Because there are so many to do, and they only reset once a day, it’s estimated that this alone would take a minimum of seven years.

This player is currently the only player who has ticked everything off the FF14 to do list and can legitimately complain about a lack of content… at least until summer 2024 when the Dawntrail expansion arrives and undoes his perfect score.
