Final Fantasy 14: 10 Reasons It Deserves Your Attention In 2021

9. *Hums Gridania Theme*

As is customary for the series --and indeed the entire JRPG genre-- the music in Final Fantasy XIV is excellent, from the fairy-tale chimes of Gridania to the epic, Disney-esque theme of Ul'Dah that makes even the most menial fetch quests feel like a perilous journey.

In a game that expects dozens of hours of play time (only removing the 'new player' tag after 168 hours and completion of the game's core story), the sounds echoing through your headphones had to be top notch, not only because of the genre's history of great music, but because voice acting is reserved for only the most crucial of cutscenes.

Starting as a Rogue in Limsa Lominsa, the early stages of Final Fantasy XIV will consist of internal quests within the city walls to allow for the player to get familiar with the mechanics, and hearing the same theme on loop would quickly become infuriating if the notes presented weren't as catchy as they so frequently are here. Thankfully, as the game stretches to new locations, the quality simply never drops.

XIV's soundtrack made its way to Spotify with its non-MMO counterparts, so rest assured it'll make even the simplest of quests to the local Co-Op a biblical affair.
