This recurring superboss has become almost an essential part of a Final Fantasy game, and has had multiple appearances in the series.

Its most memorable is likely the version that exists inside Ultimecia Castle in Final Fantasy VIII.

As with other enemies in Final Fantasy VIII, Omega scales its stats with your own party. So if you're at level 100, this fearsome beastie has well over 1 million HP.

Even fighting Omega is a difficult proposition. You must ring a bell in one part of Ultimecia Castle, then sprint to the Chapel area before a timer runs out to find Omega there. If the timer expires, you'll have to do it all again.

Omega's L5 death spell is devastating if you're at level 100, as it instantly kills anyone with a level that's a multiple of 5. You can negate this by junctioning death to status defense.

Then you're going to be focused on using Limit Breaks and summons wherever you can, in between healing from Omega Weapon's devastating attacks such as Meggido Flame, which instantly deals 9,998 damage to the entire party, leaving you likely with 1 HP left.

If you do manage to put down Omega, like other games in the series, your reward is simply the Proof of Omega item, which does nothing except congratulate you for beating it.
