Final Fantasy 7 Remake: 10 Story Changes That Have Already Happened

2. Deeper Look Into Shinra

In addition to showing Aerith being captured by Tseng and Hojo's surveillance of Cloud, the remake appears to be giving a deeper, more complex look into Shinra's evildoings. Although the original game did show you some of Shinra's inner workings, it was limited in its scope and development.

By purposefully muddying the waters of the Sector 1 reactor explosion and showing even more of Shinra's internal conflict, Shinra is portrayed not as a monolith, but as an actual organization.

Reeve Tuesti, the duplicitous double agent who controls Cait Sith, looks like he will be even more sympathetic than he was in the original game.

Shinra feels more nuanced, with devious characters like Scarlet and Heidegger playing as polar opposites of the more hospitable Reeve. This added depth should make Shinra feel less like a typical evil corporation while making their confrontations with the party all the more complex.
