2. It Predicted Current Events
With the current global situation being what it is, it seems like every new piece of media around us is inadvertently acknowledging what's going on, and FFVII Remake is certainly no exception.
For starters, Rude literally says, "Go home and stay there!", as if encouraging Cloud to practise social distancing, and nearby villagers can be heard talking about people still partying amid chaotic circumstances, food scarcity, and best of all, dwindling toilet paper stocks.
It's impossible to witness these moments and not at least raise an eyebrow at how bizarrely, accidentally prescient the game has become. That it's obviously been in development for years and years only makes it that much weirder.
