Final Fantasy VII Remake: Every Easter Egg & Reference You Probably Missed

1. Loveless

One of the weirdest recurring elements of the FFVII lineage has been the iconic "Loveless" poster, which first appeared in the Sector 8 sequence of the original FFVII, designed as an homage to rock band My Bloody Valentine's seminal album of the same name.

Though the original FFVII poster implies Loveless to be a play with its listed performance dates, the band's name is still clearly visible.

However, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII daringly decided to retcon Loveless into an epic poem within the Final Fantasy universe, with the character Genesis even attempting to act it out.

Loveless re-appears again in FFVII Remake, with both a poster visible in the train station and the larger poster from Sector 8 fantastically recreated.

The single major change, though, is that My Bloody Valentine's name is nowhere to be seen, seeming to suggest that Crisis Core's retcon-of-sorts has stuck, and it doesn't really have anything to do with the band anymore despite that original intent.
