Final Fantasy X HD: 5 Moments It'll Be Great To Relive In High Definition

4. The Kiss

Though they can be soppy at times, the development of romantic relationships between characters is one of the signatures of the Final Fantasy series, and it can be argued that recent entries have suffered, plot-wise, from lacking a memorable pairing such as Cecil/Rosa, Locke/Celes, Cloud/Aeris/Tifa, Squall/Rinoa, Zidane/Garnet or Tidus/Yuna. Of the above, Tidus and Yuna's story is perhaps the most fleshed out, and is made all the more poignant by two revelations, the first being that Yuna, as a summoner, will die if she completes her quest to defeat Sin. The second comes much later when it is discovered that no matter how many summoners lay down their lives, Sin always comes back and Yevon, the world's religious authority, are complicit in the knowledge of this but use fear of the being to subject the population to its will. In a scene that occurs towards the end of the game, Yuna contemplates whether or not to continue on her quest given it's ultimately futility. Tidus soon interrupts to tell her that he will stand by her decision, no matter what, which leads to the shedding of tears before the two act upon their mutual feelings and engage in a lengthy kiss. With remastered visuals and a remastered version of Suteki Da Ne, the piece that scores the scene, this will be no less soppy but much more beautiful in high definition. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9muA6CjbAg
