Final Fantasy X HD: 5 Moments It'll Be Great To Relive In High Definition
2. The Attack On Home And The Wedding
Everybody loves a good explosion, though the one that takes place about two thirds of the way through Final Fantasy X is a truly tragic one that is nevertheless visually impressive. It takes place in an imaginatively named place called Home, a desert settlement where the Al Bhed, a race ostracised by the rest of Spira due to their use of 'forbidden' technology, make their residence. Said residence comes under attack by the Guado, a more obedient race, when Yuna is brought there following a kidnapping. Intent on kidnapping her in turn for their leader Seymour (who transpires to be a villain intent on using Yuna in his quest to become one with Sin and 'end peoples suffering' by destroying the world), they decimate the settlement, prompting its heartfelt destruction at the hands of the Al Bhed leader (and Yuna's uncle) Cid, as he, the party and a handful of survivors make their escape on an airship. Said airship is then used on a rescue mission that looks just as stunning, as Tidus and company interrupt Yuna's forced marriage to Seymour, hijacking the ceremony by descending from the sky. They are eventually subdued, but this leads only into another scene that was amongst the Playstation 2's finest cinematics, as Yuna creates a distraction by flinging herself from a high point, saving herself only through the summoning of one of her aeons. Now with the power of the Playstation 3 behind them, the scenes should be even just as enjoyable to experience as they were the first time around. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5o3B-TKTsg
