What else could it be? Final Fantasy X announced itself to the world with a simply breathtaking scene that still ranks amongst the greatest openings in gaming history today. Beginning with Tidus playing blitzball intercut with shots of the enigmatic Auron, an impactful heavy metal track (Otherworld) begins to play as the monstrous Sin emerges. It soon begins to decimate the city for reasons initially unknown to the player and though its introductory scene clocks it at just two and a half minutes, it is the perfect start to what will become a hundred-plus hour quest, as players are immediately thrust into the action. The visuals of this scene were nothing short of spectacular twelve years ago.
