Final Fantasy XIV Review: 10 Ways It Rules

4. Tasks

Final Fantasy 14 600x300 It's safe to say that there is a lot to do in this game. Once you've set yourself up with a class, you'll start getting offered class-specific quests, you can hunt down special creatures that will earn you masses of XP, and then there's the Guildhest and Levequest services, which allow you to quest in both groups and on your own, and what's more, you can perform these challenges as many times as you like. Then there's the Full Active Time Event (FATE) system, which many players will instantly parallel to that of Guild Wars 2, essentially a public quest system which allows un-unified players to temporarily ally to take on a huge boss. These FATEs make for easily some of the game's most rewarding moments, even if it's initially a challenge getting used to the level of chaos. Also, like in Guild Wars 2, you'll no doubt find yourself hanging out with some players for hours on end as you tackle a number of FATEs together.
