3. The Community
Nothing can sink an MMO for me quite like a community of douchebags; it's one of the (many) reasons I stopped playing World of Warcraft among other titles, because if a game doesn't have a welcoming, friendly community, what's the point in it being massively multiplayer in the first place? Though it's early days yet, and of course, like any game, it has a certain allocation of idiots, A Realm Reborn seems to benefit from appealing to a slightly more discerning breed of gamer, who might be slightly more mature than some (
some, not all) of the types that obsessively rinse World of Warcraft without a single thought to hygiene or social convention. Overall, I've felt like I'm playing mostly with fans of the franchise, which frankly is a pretty great thing; it's something that binds us all together from the outset.
