Football Manager 2013 Demo: 10 Improvements That Guarantee Excellence

5. Better 3D Match Engine

Linking to the last point is the much improved 3D match engine: SI Games have really put a lot of work into improving this side of the game to make it look not only better than previous incarnations but also much more realistic. I remember with great pains playing a network game of FM 2012 as Barcelona, who have many great free kick takers in their team, yet I went the whole season scoring just one goal from a direct free kick, and my friend Dan who was Real Madrid, had equal misfortune with Cristiano Ronaldo performing just as poorly. These issues have now been addressed and with the new physics engine players will see the ball move curve round walls and bobble just like in real life. Santi Cazorla has already scored two peaches for me, which reminded me of the Rosicky goals for the Czech Rep during the World Cup of 2006. The improvements aren€™t just on the pitch, with stadiums coming to life with fans who react to events during the match as if they were really there. Players will get booed and fans go nuts when their players score fantasy goals. To take full advantage of these touches, a variety of new camera angles have also been added to showcase the match experience and offer a more televised portrayal of events. On top of this, more player animations have been added to the game, which further stresses the fact SI Games don€™t just want their game to play better but look better too.
