Football Manager 2013 Demo: 10 Improvements That Guarantee Excellence

7. Director of Football

The Director of Football is an element of the game that many players will initially be wary of or despise, but in reality they can be very useful indeed. We€™ve all had those troublesome or quite frankly rubbish players, that despite your greatest endeavours you simply can€™t sell. I remember my mate Dan offering Hamit Altintop for £1 in our last FM 2012 game, as he wanted to free up the wages and simply wanted him gone. Incredibly no one made a bid for him so poor old Hamit sat in the reserves being paid a fortune for doing absolutely nothing. Now you can delegate the role of selling those unlucky souls to your Director of Football. He will do everything in his power to sell these miscreants and can also look to find loan deals with players you feel need first team experience elsewhere, before giving them a chance you€™re in starting line up. These are done separately to your regular deals, so don€™t worry about them selling your star player behind your back or whilst your on holiday. In addition to the Director of Football, more roles have been created in clubs such as Head of Youth Development and Head Scout. Again these are designed to give the game a more realistic feel and to alleviate some of the burden from the manager€™s in-game. They can offer advice, perform specific tasks and can even go and gain coaching badges to improve their abilities. http://youtu.be/TDtXbz7zP7k
