8. Training
On the note of coaches, training within FM 2013 has also had a big boost and is not only easier to use but less time consuming also. Now offered in a more simplified overview panel, it combines a variety of the training features at once and allows for more detailed training when building up to a game. This can be delegated to backroom staff if youd prefer, or you can set a particular focus leading up to a match. This can be done several weeks ahead of where you are, so if you have a spare few minutes whilst waiting for dinner to be made or your friend to finalise that transfer deal, then its something you can tidy up. Linking into the point I made about the improved user interface, coaching is a much clearer affair and I found it easier to implement the changes in training than in previous games. Players can now be trained for a particular role, so if you want to turn Johan Djourou into a Ball Playing Defender you can, or at least you can set the wheels in motion. Like previous games, the stats of each player will affect how well they respond to specific coaching, but I must admit that in this case with Johan I wont hold my breath. However if you can find a hidden gem somewhere whos currently a left back but who feel could make the transition to the left wing (a la Gareth Bale) then Im sure with the right determination and coaching you can help them reach their potential. http://youtu.be/hWcmDIbC0wI
