For football fans, some of the most exciting (or disappointing?) days of the season are the respective Deadline Days in place in the various leagues dotted across the globe.

In Football Manager 2022, Sports Interactive will be showcasing a revamped Deadline Day for gamers.

As per SI Senior Designer Tom Bray, FM22 will tweak Deadline Day in several ways. It's not just Deadline Day itself that will change, as the lead up to the transfer window slamming shut will see the rumour mill running wild on potential deals that may or may not end up happening.

Where you yourself are concerned, you'll be able to reach out to the press and let them know which sort of players you're in the market for ahead of Deadline Day, which in itself should likely only serve to amp up the rumour mill. Additionally, you'll also be able to hijack deals at the last minute - meaning you can swoop in and gazump your rivals as they try to make that late addition to their squad.

Visually, the whole Deadline Day period will see a temporary change of colour scheme and the implementation of a giant countdown clock as FM22 looks to drum up the same sort of panic and chaos seen in the real world.
