Football Manager 2022: 10 Right-Backs You Must Sign

8. Chris Richards

Football Manager 2022 Devyne Rensch
SEGA

Club: FC Bayern II (on loan at Hoffenheim)

Nationality: American

Price: £6.5 million

You can't sign Chris Richards immediately due to him being out on loan from FC Bayern to Hoffenheim, but it might be wise to put a future transfer in place for the player once said loan spell expires.

At just £6.5 million at the start of FM22, this full US international is a smart purchase to make when looking to expand your right-back options for the next few years. Richards may not quite reach the truly world class standards of some of the other names still to come in this list, yet he represents remarkable value for money for someone who becomes a very dependable, vert decent right-back.

With the potential to achieve top numbers across his physical attributes, his work rate, his determination and his teamwork, not to mention his ability to fill in elsewhere across your backline, Richards is a no-brainer signing to make - even for the biggest of clubs.

Reliability? Check. Good work ethic? Check. Versatility? Check. And all for around the £6.5 million mark.
