Football Manager 2022 Review: 8 Ups And 2 Downs

2. Set Pieces Once Again Matter

SEGA

For the most part, set pieces were merely just there on a lot of previous Football Manager games.

During the early years of FM following the 2003 split of Eidos and Sports Interactive, it felt as if you could get a major advantage by taking the time to put together a set piece routine or two. In more recent years, though, there didn't seem to be all that much difference in terms of rewards (see: goals) whether you bothered to create a corner routine or just used the standard default instructions.

On Football Manager 2022, the rewards can be plentiful for those who tinker with their side's plan of attack on corners. Rather than not noticing any particular change, FM22 will see you become way more profitable from corners should you take the time to plot out the positioning and approach of your players.

Again, this is one more way in which FM22 is a more fruitful experience for those willing to go the extra yard and for those with an eye for detail.
