7. Don't Spend Steel On Skins

Steel is For Honor's in-game currency, and is earned upon the completion of objectives and matches.

Although it can be spent on customisation options like skins and colours, that would be a waste until later in the game. The thing you should be spending your Steel on, is Heroes and Gear. Steel is the only way to recruit other Heroes and use them for yourself, and the first thing you want to do is save it up to unlock the full roster.

Gear is the next important thing to spend your Steel on in For Honor. Gear pieces will modulate a variety of stats from damage boosts to defence buffs, but what you can equip is also tied to your level, meaning players can't literally "pay to win" outside of their current bracket.
