For Honor: 10 Gameplay Features Ubisoft Didn't Tell You About

7. Realistic Weight & Movement

One of the big surprises of the beta has been the movement and feel of the heroes, both in and out of combat.

The warriors - when compared to the smaller, weaker soldiers that fight alongside you - are larger than life, muscle-popping mega soldiers.

Fortunately, they move like larger than life, muscle-popping mega soldiers, too. They feel cumbersome. They look like they're using great effort to lift their large swords and axes above their heads. Players can feel themselves fighting the controller to get their hero to lurch forward a few steps to the next opponent, but all of this is a good thing, as it lends a realism to the warriors and their movements.

As opposed to some other tactical battlefield titles, the surroundings feel real and dangerous. While the weak AI soldiers are somewhat disappointing, the slow, deliberate movements of the heroes make combat less about strength and more about precision.

Speaking of combat...
