For Honor: 10 Major Problems Ubisoft Must Fix
4. Orochi Balancing
Easily the most hotly-debated point of contention amongst the For Honor forums is in regards to the Orochi, and how evenly balanced they are. There are people saying they are too quick and deal far to much damage, with the ability to lock in unfair and guaranteed hits. Others say that you just need to learn their timings and that they are the best thing since sliced bread.
But as someone who has played the Orochi for a fair while, I can say with all certainty that they need to be fixed. At least a little. I'm not straying into the territory of classing them as overpowered or broken, but there are a number of small tweaks that need to be made in order to have them balanced.
First of all, they deal too much damage for how quick they are. Their side-swiping move is un-dodgeable, un-parryable and nigh impossible to block, resulting in endless spam. That, and they can get a heavy attack guaranteed whenever they use a guard break - something that whilst not game-breaking, it is incredibly frustrating.
It's small little things that need to be tweaked ever so slightly to make them balanced. True, if you can learn their moves, you can fight them with ease, but For Honor is built on reasonable damage, and being able to say that the damage was fair. When you have no ability to defend yourself against a lot of oppositional attacks, it becomes increasingly unfair.
