For Honor: 10 Major Problems Ubisoft Must Fix

1. Matchmaking Problems

Unfortunately, the backbone of the online aspect of For Honor can be shaky. Plagued by a wealth of problems, the matchmaking algorithms still need a fair bit of tweaking before they can be considered adequate. That, and some alterations to the groundwork that is the matchmaking system.

First and foremost, the game needs to sort the basics of matchmaking and fix the multitude of errors and mid loading cancellations. Essentially basic maintenance, but problems that need addressing nonetheless. The game also needs to sort out the after match game lobby.

For some reason, the game sees fit to require a minimum of half the number of players to commit to a second match before it'll even consider starting. If it doesn't reach that minimum, the game will boot you back to the main screen and force you to queue all over again.

It just doesn't make sense - you've already told the game that you want another match, but instead it forces you to tell it again, instead of automatically queueing itself.

This results in players constantly being dropped into sessions that are halfway through, and never getting a full game, which can be incredibly frustrating. Not to mention the fact that the game is pretty adept at seamlessly transitioning bots into players, meaning there is no reason to not be able to run a match with less than half the players.

All of this wastes the players' time, and the constant errors and problems can take their toll on enjoyability.

I like video games, writing and writing about video games. Expect sarcasm and the dry wit of a Brit. And the occasional rant of a unhappy Scot. You know... the usual.
