For Honor: 10 New Factions That Must Be Added
8. The Assassins
One of the more interesting suggestions floating around various forums is the idea of introducing an Assassin faction based upon Assassin’s Creed. How Ubisoft would implement such an idea remains to be seen, but it would be an incredibly ballsy move that would affirm the already popular theory about Ubisoft's connected universe.
On top of that, there would be the major problem of designing the Assassins. Considering how Assassin’s Creed draws from a multitude of time periods, there isn’t really a definitive period aesthetic. Perhaps by combining a multitude of time periods, we could get some interesting classes that span the entirety of history.
However, the more pressing matter is the fact that traditionally, the Assassins are more cloak and dagger than battle-hardened warriors and primarily rely on stealth. Introducing stealth mechanics to a game about war would be interesting, but would ultimately fall flat. Perhaps having them be nimbler with restricted offensive capabilities and increased counter attacks would work. And of course, the hidden blade would have to be worked in somehow.
It would be a nice sentiment to unite the franchises and implementing a property that you already own is relatively easy. All in all, it would really just be interesting to see how and if Ubisoft would do it.
