https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KyNYbVPSs38 After over two years of speculative trailers and only the barest glimpse of this game in action (the mention of a tie-in TV show also being in there somewhere), Remedy finally demoed their game properly, showcasing not only their tried n' true slow-motion gunplay, but a quick-cut compilation of shots for the show too. Turns out Game of Thrones' Littlefinger (Aiden Gillen) and X-Men's Iceman (Shawn Ashmore) are taking the lead roles, as the third-person action game elects to tell the story of the heroes, whilst the tie-in TV counterpart does the same with the villains. It's a very cool concept and one that thanks to Remedy's prowess with the written word, should get pulled off at least in the script department, without a hitch. Gameplay-wise they're literally sticking to their guns, as Max Payne/Alan Wake's over-shoulder shooting is being bolstered with a string of time-related powers. The story goes that you're in control of time itself following a freak accident, so that means lobbing time grenades, freezing platoons in place and then Superman-punching them back to reality - even battling other similarly-equipped soldiers whilst inside a time warp. Sound crazy? It will be, but check out the footage above - it looks like a huge amount of fun. After all, who doesn't love poppin' headshots like champagne corks in super slow-motion?
