Ghost Of Tsushima: 12 Tips & Tricks The Game Doesn't Tell You
5. Golden Birds Lead To Secret Locations
After a while the game will point out that the golden birds of Tsushima "know everything about the island", and thus hint that they should be followed.
However, that tip only flags when you're on the main story path - i.e. journeying towards the Ishikawa mission.
If you're anything like me, the game's sublime mix of spiralling mission design means one question mark leads to an entire wing of the island being explored instead. As such, you'll run into these golden birds and they'll stay with you, hovering around Jin's head in a manner that can feel like a glitch.
However, the opposite is true. Start running in a variety of directions and you'll notice the bird is actually taking you to a secret spot - be it a charm location, somewhere to compose a haiku or anything in between.
