8. Aegir's Protection (Talisman)
The Item: When fully upgraded, the Aegir's Protection talisman becomes one of the very best in the game. It carries two enchantment sockets, is Level 6, and boosts your defence by 17.
When activated, it creates a golden circle that - when Kratos stands within it - improves defence, restores health, and prevents attacks from being interrupted. It's useful if you're being battered by a group of enemies and need to take a few seconds to recuperate.
How To Get It: Aegir's Protection can be found in the Landsuther Mines region (to the right of the River Pass on the map), during the "Deus Ex Malachite" favour for Brok.
Midway through this quest, you'll encounter a tough Dark Elf after climbing up a makeshift wooden ladder (this fight is impossible to miss, just proceed with the quest as normal). Beat him, and he'll drop the talisman. If you somehow missed it, check the Lost Items tab in the store later on.
